SMARTSENS Press Conference: New Family of Analytical Sensors Well Received
KROHNE held a press conference on 3 April 2013 to present for the first time its new family of SMARTSENS analytical sensors to invited journalists. Initially Stephan Neuburger, CEO of KROHNE, elaborated on how the company had developed from a mere supplier of flowmeters to one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of solutions in industrial process instrumentation.
The focused development of the various product groups, of which analytical sensors have played a part since the 1990s, is the basis of the companies’ success. Today, KROHNE employs more than 3,000 people worldwide.
Having finished his short introduction, Mr Neuburger gave the floor to Wolfgang Babel who as managing director of KROHNE Analytics is responsible for analytical measuring technology at KROHNE. In his key note presentation Mr Babel, who has been working in the area of analysis instruments for over 20 years, highlighted the driving factors that have had a major impact on process analysis in recent years.
Playing a key role was the feedback and requirements from customers, who had identified various weak points in existing systems. Their requests served as a starting point for developing the SMARTSENS family: SMARTSENS is the first family of 2-wire loop powered analytical sensors with integrated transmitter technology, thus marking a turning point in analysis. Being a true innovation, it has found a high level of positive response among the trade press. The attending journalists from Germany and the Netherlands were given the opportunity to learn on their own and by way of a sample model how user-friendly the news sensors are.
The new SMARTSENS family is officially introduced to the public at Hannover Messe 2013. Vistors will be given detailed information on the new product family at the KROHNE booth, D 30, at Metropolitan Solutions, Hall 1, where they can even calibrate a SMARTSENS sensor on their own.
